The Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Environment and Managing Director of Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA has said that he will contest for the 2027 Governorship election.
The two term former Governorship aspirant who is from Ipokia Local Government maintained that it is time for him to lead Ogun State.
Hunye disclosed this on Wednesday in his office at ibara while marking his 62nd birthday anniversary with his staff.
He submitted that he has contested twice but he was not given ticket, saying that he was quite sure that the ticket would be given to him this time to rule Ogun State.
The former Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives while speaking with newsangle online boasted that he will succeed Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun in 2027, adding that he has paid his dues.
He said” I want to appreciate everyone for celebrating with me today. I am elated and I want to tell everyone of you that you have made my achievements possible for me as the MD of OGWAMA, to my staff, I say thank you for you love, cooperation and support towards changing the face of OGWAMA, if not you, I wouldn’t have made some achievements. I want to urge to continue to continue to support me in making Ogun State clean. I want to say it here again i have served in different ministries in the State during the immediate administration and when this administration came, the Governor offered me SA on Environment and the MD of OGWAMA but initially I rejected because I thought it was too low for me but have several calls that I should take the role, I accepted it and I thank God today that I have changed the face of OGWAMA. Ogun State is now clean, we are committed towards a cleaner Ogun State.We focus on improving waste management and addressing environmental issues. I want to schock you again that this time around, i want to lead Ogun State, I am contesting the 2027 Governorship election and I will win, I have contested twice, first was during the last administration and the second was in 2023 but I was not given the ticket, this is my 14 years in Ogun State, I want to lead the State, I have paid my dues, I deserve to be the next Governor, succeeding our amiable Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, my people believe in me, they know am a great performer and if given the ticket I will perform beyond their expectations.
The celebrant also hosted notable Chieftains of All Progressives Congress, APC in his house in Landerin where by they all wine and dine together.
Also the Association of Waste Managers Of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, AWAMN also presented gifts to the celebrant, describing him as a man of integrity and a great performer.
Other dignitaries present were politicians within and outside Ogun State, members of APC in Ipokia, Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Odeda, Ifo and some other local governments of the State.
