Abeokuta South I Race Gains Momentum as ONA Picks APC Forms

The race for Abeokuta South Constituency I seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly gathered momentum on Friday as Olaposi Nurudeen Ayobiojo, popularly known as ONA, formally obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the APC secretariat.
The forms were collected on his behalf by Abdulrazaq Fatoki, Head of the ONA Media Team, with supporters at the secretariat describing the development as a decisive step from consultations to active participation in the party’s primary process.
Party officials present at the exercise said the move underscores ONA’s compliance with internal party procedures and signals his readiness to test his popularity among delegates ahead of the primaries.
Party officials who witnessed the process said the move reflects ONA’s adherence to internal party procedures and readiness to test his popularity among delegates.
Speaking after receiving the documents, Fatoki said the exercise was about more than paperwork.
“Today we are not just picking up forms. We are taking responsibility for the hopes and aspirations of the people of Abeokuta South Constituency 1,” Fatoki said.
“Our principal is fully prepared for this task and determined to offer purposeful representation built on integrity and service.”
Fatoki added that the campaign would now intensify outreach to party members and stakeholders across the constituency, with a focus on youth participation in governance.

With the forms secured, political analysts say ONA joins the list of early movers in Abeokuta South 1 ahead of the APC primaries.
The ONA team said it will run a transparent campaign and engage delegates on what it called a plan for responsible lawmaking.
