A socio-political group, Consign Grassroots Mobilization, Abeokuta North Chapter, has declared its support for the re-election of Prince Dr. Babatunde Tella, Deputy Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta North State Constituency.
The endorsement, announced on Saturday, cut across the four major communities in Abeokuta North—Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona, and Oke-Ogun—with a large turnout of stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organisations and party faithful.
The group said its decision was based on Tella’s performance in office, citing his contributions to lawmaking, oversight functions, and constituency development since his emergence in the assembly.
Speaking during the exercise, the group leader, Ismail Wale Akindele, popularly known as Afinju, said the endorsement was rooted in merit and trust.
“Leadership is about service, and Prince Tella has demonstrated a clear understanding of effective representation,” he said.
Members of the group also hinted what they described as visible developmental strides, people-oriented programmes, and consistent engagement with constituents across the constituency.
Testimonials from residents in the benefiting communities commended the lawmaker’s inclusive and responsive leadership style, noting that continuity would help consolidate ongoing projects and attract more development.
The group, however, called on voters and party members in Abeokuta North to support Tella’s second term bid in the forthcoming election.
