The violent killing of legal practitioner Olufemi Tajudeen Idris (Esq) has intensified fears that a deliberate and coordinated effort is underway to silence youth leader Abidemi Akinlade, a key witness seeking justice for Honourable Hassan Olajuwon.

Idris was reportedly murdered on the night of March 6 at his residence in a chilling attack that has sent shockwaves through the community. According to early reports, the assailants struck under the cover of darkness, hacking the lawyer with machetes in a ruthless assault that left him dead.

Before his death, Idris had been representing Akinlade, who is said to possess critical information relating to the case involving Honourable Olajuwon. Akinlade has already survived multiple attempts on his life and has been forced into hiding, constantly fleeing from what sources describe as persistent and credible threats.

The situation has taken an even darker turn following the earlier attack on Akinlade’s brother, Olusegun Akinlade, just months ago.

Many observers now believe these incidents are not isolated, but part of a broader and dangerous campaign aimed at intimidating and ultimately silencing Akinlade.

With the brutal killing of his lawyer, concerns have escalated sharply. Analysts warn that eliminating Idris may have been intended to weaken Akinlade’s pursuit of justice and leave him exposed.

The pattern of violence, they say, points to a relentless effort to ensure that Akinlade is unable to testify or continue his demands for accountability.

The pressing question remains: what will become of Abidemi Akinlade survive?
His life is now widely regarded as being in grave and immediate danger. Without his legal counsel and amid mounting threats, even other legal practitioners are now scared to pursue the matter for Abidemi Akinlade, brecause of the fear that is loom , Akinlade stands increasingly vulnerable, with many fearing that the worst may yet be ahead if urgent protection is not provided.

Human rights advocates and concerned citizens are calling for swift and decisive action, urging authorities to investigate Idris’s murder thoroughly and to guarantee the safety of Akinlade. They warn that failure to act could not only deny justice for Honourable Hassan Olajuwon but also embolden further acts of violence.

As fear grips those following the case, one conclusion is becoming unavoidable: there appears to be a determined effort to silence Abidemi Akinlade—and time may be running out to ensure his voice is not lost
