Governors Idris Monitors Process As Kebbi Holds APC Ward Congresses

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday monitored the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses held across the state, pledging to work closely with newly elected party officials.

The exercise took place across all 225 wards, with party leaders emerging through a consensus arrangement.

Idris observed the congresses alongside prominent party stakeholders, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero; the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu; and the state APC chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru.

Ogunvoice reports that the governor visited selected venues in Birnin Kebbi, including Kauran Gwandu Primary School and Justice Ibrahim Umar Primary School, where party members gathered for the exercise.

Speaking during the monitoring visit, Idris assured that his administration would collaborate with the newly elected ward executives to strengthen the party and advance development programmes at the grassroots.

He stressed that the ward structure remained vital to both party organisation and governance at the community level.

The APC State Chairman, Kana-Zuru, said the emergence of ward executives followed extensive consultations with stakeholders and strict adherence to party guidelines.

He noted that the process was designed to ensure unity and avoid disputes among party members.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Ward Congress Committee, Abdulmalik Mahmood, stated that the exercise was conducted in line with the party’s constitution.

According to Daily Post, party officials noted that the congresses were held on the same day the holy month of Ramadan commenced, with members participating in the exercise across the state despite the religious observance.
